We believe that Life is carried within the vibrations of the word. So, when Amrutha is uttered on the lips or heard in the ear, that nourishing energy is spread throughout the world.
Openness and inclusivity is our approach to dining. The fundamental idea that as human beings we have far more in common with each other than we do differences is woven through every aspect of our philosophy.
Arvin and Shyam brought Amrutha into the world in 2014. Before any restaurant, before any fixed address, just a little food truck and in a muddy field playing reggae tunes.
Years before we opened our first site, we were festival traders. If you’ve ever been to a festival, you know what happens out there. No phone signal. Same music. Same food. Everyone sleeping in the same soggy field. It strips everything back. When people get stripped back, something shifts; they start looking for what they have in common instead of what separates them. You’ll have a two-hour conversation with a complete stranger at a festival that you’d walk straight past on a London street without blinking.
That spirit is where Amrutha was cultivated.
Most festival food traders had a simple philosophy back then: people are stuck in a field, they’ll eat anything, charge as much as you can. We went the other way. These people are out here giving everything; the least we could do is feed them something real. So we cooked from scratch, used proper ingredients, and treated every plate like it mattered.
That same ethos built the first restaurant in Earlsfield. Small budget, small space. Over the years it grew into something we couldn’t have designed if we tried. Every person who’s passed through has left a mark; a painting, a plant, a shelf. It’s become this living, organic thing. Built by people, for people.
Honor Oak came next. A neighbourhood that felt like a natural home; family-oriented, community-minded, the kind of place where human connection and a simple hello is still valued. Big windows, high ceilings, warm wood and exposed brick. A space that makes you want to linger. Same Soul, but a bigger canvas.
Amrutha On Road is our return to the fields; back to where it all started. Restaurant experience gained, standards developed, offering refined. Same Heart as before, but with a level of consistency and efficiency that event catering has rarely seen.
Unlike most places, we’ve chosen not to do online bookings; because for us, the warmth, humanity and connection starts in the booking process with the very first hello. Some meals you may forget, this one will linger among the fondest of memories.
